Lesson #3,272: Don't make things sound worse than...
A friend of mine e-mailed to ask if I was OK because of my earlier post about listening to your gut. Things are actually pretty damn good here at blip. I kicked myself for not listening to my gut, but the impact really wasn’t that severe at all.
Like anyone, I sometimes get down on myself when I feel like I fucked up — no matter what the impact. There’s probably a lesson in...

Lesson #3,271: Trust Yourself
Update: A friend points out that this post makes things sound bad. Nah. I didn’t trust my gut, and feel shitty about it, but it’s not a big deal. The world isn’t ending, and I’ve moved on and so has everything and everyone else. Things are fine, and in fact going well.
I’ve made the same mistake twice in the course of just a few weeks. I’ve been running a...

I posted this comment in reply to this post on Silicon Alley Insider:
I believe that TubeMogul has corrected their research about blip counting embeds. Their CEO e-mailed me today to apologize for their error. In terms of restrictions by IP address, I understand AOL Survivor’s comments. We’re probably undercounting to some degree because we do restrict view counting based on IPs.

Did Humans Colonize the World by Boat? →
courtneyc: Our new understanding of climate and sea-level change sheds light on something that has long puzzled archaeologists: How did modern humans colonize the far reaches of the globe so quickly after their exodus from Africa? If Erlandson and his colleagues are right, it was a series of sea voyages and river crossings that brought our ancestors to alien lands, launching the greatest...
