YouTube HD vs Facebook HD
dalasverdugo:

There’s been some discussion lately over which video sharing site has the best HD service. There are lots of features that differentiate video sharing services now beyond the HD compression quality, but since I couldn’t find it anywhere on Google and I know how hard it can be to find practical x264 encoding settings, here’s YouTube and Facebook’s HD profiles compared:

I’m holding on to my AAPL stock. I bought it at a ridiculously low price ($80.09) and it’s trading just under $90 ($88.36) right now. I’ve made about 10% so far and I anticipate better returns coming.
I completely understand the issues around transparency. It’s true that the health issues and the backdating scandal are troubling. But Apple remains a “screaming...

Ditching Windows once and for all?
I’ve been using a Mac on my desk for about six months now, and I love it. We’re an Exchange shop, so I’ve been running Outlook in a VMWare installation until now.
Today I ditched the VMWare in favor of iCal and Mail.app. I’ve got Mail.app talking with Exchange via IMAP, and iCal is synched with Exchange every ten minutes. I’m using Google Calendar as glue between...
Satisfiers and Maximizers →
lifeinsideout:
viajingc:
Satisfiers are those who make a decision or take action once their criteria are met. That doesn’t mean they’ll settle for mediocrity; their criteria can be very high, but as soon as they find the pasta sauce or the business card that has the qualities they want, they’re satisfied. Maximizers want to make the optimal decision. Even if they see a bicycle or a backpack...
