Web Video – An Industry out of Balance : Jim Louderback
Jim complains that he can’t get “non-organic viewers” to watch Revision3 shows for less than advertisers are willing to pay him for those views.
What he’s talking about is arbitrage, which only works in inefficient markets. Jim says that the video market is “unbalanced,” but what’s actually happening is that the video market is balancing. It’s maturing. In a mature, healthy market it should be impossible to get a “non-organic viewer” for less than an advertiser is willing to pay for their attention.
