NY Times: Afghanistan election is fraud-y, fraud-y fraud-y

People who call what happened in Afghanistan “election fraud” have no concept.
My dad was over there leading up to the election. Rockets are being fired daily, the Taliban flat-out runs large parts of the hinterlands, and there is nothing resembling basic social order. People live in one room at night while the bombs go off and the businesspeople don’t leave their hotels. My old man had a bomb - bomb meaning explosive-laden individual - blow up the place next to where he was staying about two weeks before the election.
Fuck fraud. An election in a place like that is a farce. Best to count the votes in the manner that best secures short-term peace and move on.
Agreed. I just wish someone other than Karzai would win.
