Sharing information more efficiently

We’re experimenting here at blip with having every department send a hard-nosed, unvarnished report on their performance to the entire company every Friday.  How much money did we make through run of network advertising?  How are the key metrics there looking?  What was our biggest direct sales disappointment?  Biggest triumph?

We’re big enough now that information doesn’t flow super-smoothly through the company, so we’re trying this in an effort to get everyone up-to-date on how the company as a whole is faring.  I’m very optimistic about it.

Basically what we’re doing is giving every employee roughly the same information that senior management gets.  Ideally we’d just have an intranet site where everyone could view this information in real-time, but who has the time to build that?
